We were on the OB side at MSH and paired with an inexperienced nurse (only 3-4 months post graduation), and the nurse was the only one available to us from the hospital throughout the labor. Katia made a crucial difference in helping us feel confident, informed, and supported at every step. She advocated for us when necessary, and created an environment where we felt safe and empowered. Not only that, she was critical in ensuring my labor progressed. I give her full credit for ensuring that I had such a positive delivery experience, the experience truly would have been disastrous without her. However, Katia's support didn’t stop after the birth. Postpartum, she continued to check in, offer practical help and thoughtful advice, and provide the kind of encouragement that we as new parents really needed. She has such a natural way with babies.
